The Vivity ™ Extended Vision Intraocular Lens (IOL) is the latest advancement in multifocal intraocular lens technology. Thanks to its unique design, it offers a wide range of vision to a suitably selected patient after surgery, from far, medium distance and functional nearsightedness, with no visual disturbances which sometimes seen in more traditional multifocal intraocular lenses. The visual side effect profile, which includes glare and halo, is very similar to that of a monofocal (single-focal) IOL. Vivity ™ IOL is also available in a toric version to help correct patients with mild to moderate astigmatism.

Trifocal IOLs used to date offer the patient a vision independent of glasses from a distance, medium and close distance, and may cause a number of problems in some sensitive patients, especially in the form of light flashes and halos at night. In addition, loss of contrast could negatively affect vision quality in night. Vivity™ will solve these problems with its special innovative technology. Driving at night will no longer be a hassle. It is seen as an option that can be used safely in mild and moderate glaucoma and retinal patients.

The only draw back of vivity in comparison to trifocal lenses is inability of the patient to read very small letters, and she or he might need to put on a low number (about +1.00) reading glasses in that situations.
